Portrait of Siqi Wang

Siqi Wang

PhD Student · Cycle 41

Supervised by Andrea Manes and Dayou Ma

Research

Siqi’s research focuses on computational mechanics, with particular interests in developing advanced path-following algorithms and numerical methods. He is developing the Arc-Center Arc-Length Method (ACALM) for robust and efficient tracing of complex equilibrium paths, together with Ritz- or FEM-based approaches for the nonlinear analysis of structural systems.

Research in images

The meshless energy element method (EEM) has been successfully extended to the various linear and non-linear mechanical problems, involving arbitrarily shaped perforated plate and complex mixed boundary conditions, and its generality, stability and efficiency are strongly demonstrated. These works are collaborated with Prof. Zhao Jing at Northwestern Polytechnical University, China.
